Hinckley & District Museum
Would you like the opportunity to make a difference to the future direction of Hinckley & District Museum?

We are looking for Trustees to join our team and help to develop the Museum over the next 5/10 years.

The Museum is a registered CIO (Charitable Incorporated Organisation). We operate wholly through friendly, enthusiastic volunteers. We exist to tell the story of the heritage of Hinckley and the surrounding area through permanent and new exhibits and fun events each season, aiming to make the experience enjoyable to everyone from our base at the 350 years old, 17th century thatched cottages on Lower Bond Street.

We seek people from all backgrounds and communities with skills to help deliver our vision and plans for future sustainability. We are keen to encourage younger people with an interest in heritage who are looking to develop their understanding of the Museum sector. Our expectation is that Trustees remain on the Board for up to three years.

The Trustee Board needs a range of abilities and we welcome trustees from any background who are enthusiastic and committed. At this time we are particularly keen to encourage people with marketing and communication skills, plus IT knowhow who could help promote and extend the scope of the Museum’s activities.

The Board of Trustees meets formally about every 6 weeks. There is opportunity for Trustees to take on individual roles or be involved in working groups and ongoing projects which may require extra time commitment.

If this sounds like something that you would like to be involved in, we would love to hear from you. Please contact Ann Crabtree (Chairman) through hinckleymuseum@hotmail.co.uk.
